The academic honors' dean's list for the Fall 2017 semester has been announced by Dr. Donna Hedgepath, Campbellsville University's provost and vice president for academic affairs.

Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of Campbellsville University, told 313 undergraduate and graduate students in two commencement ceremonies Friday, Dec. 15, the largest in the history of December commencements, to thank those who helped them along their journey and that today will be a day they will remember. The number of the graduates was a 54 percent increase over one year ago. Although the 313 graduates knew they were going to be honored, one 80-year-old woman in the audience had a surprise waiting for her.

Campbellsville University honored students, faculty and staff who have gone above and beyond their calling at the recent annual Honors and Awards Day in Ransdell Chapel. Awards were presented in categories of Special Awards, Academic Awards, Servant Leadership Awards, Honors Graduates, Alpha Chi, Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges and Champions of Character.

"Through Christian education, lives are changed." Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of Campbellsville University, told a record number of graduates in four ceremonies as 558 students received their degrees Friday and Saturday, May 12 and 13. For the 2016-17 academic year, 760 students will have graduated, upon completion of all academic requirements. The number of graduates and actual number of commencement ceremonies are both record breaking.

The Patriot football team looked to play the role of spoiler on Saturday as they took on NAIA #18 ranked Georgetown College. The first half looked to be in control of the Patriots who took a 7-7 score into the locker room at halftime. The second half though saw a surge from the Tigers as they would score 24 unanswered points to come away with the 31-7 win over the Patriots.

The University of the Cumberlands men's golf team had a six shot improvement in the second round to move them up two spots and finish tied for fourth place at the St. Andrews Fall Invitational, Tuesday afternoon at the Scotch Meadows Golf Course. The Patriots carded a two-round total of 610.

UC Football took to the road on Saturday as they faced the Bears of the University of Pikeville (UPike) in Mid-South Conference East Division play. It was a tale of two halves as UC carried a 7-3 lead into halftime, but 28 unanswered points from the Bears would propel them to a 31-7 win over the Patriots, dropping UC to 3-5 on the season (2-2 MSC East).

The University of the Cumberlands football team looks to keep their conference title hopes alive as they travel to Pikeville, KY to face the University of Pikeville Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m.

The University of the Cumberlands men's golf team completed Tuesday's final round at the Bojangles Tennessee Intercollegiate at the Tennessee National Golf Course with a fifth place finish while one individual placed in the top five. The Patriots put together a strong second round which brought the Patriots two-round combined stroke total to 607.

The University of the Cumberlands men's golf team had two individuals in the top seven, while the team is in fifth place after the opening round of the BoJangles Tennessee Intercollegiate, Monday afternoon at the Tennessee National Golf Course. The Patriots carded a 299 in the first round.

The Patriot football team hosted the Knights of Kentucky Christian University on Saturday and did not disappoint in front of the home crowd. Scoring in all facets of the game, UC dominated the line of scrimmage all night as they defeated the Knights 52-7 to move to 3-4 on the season (2-1 MSC East).

The University of the Cumberlands football team returns to conference play when they host Kentucky Christian Saturday night at James H. Taylor, II Stadium. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and is being sponsored by Holston Gases.

University of the Cumberlands crowned Logan Smith and Maggie Ballou as the 2016 Homecoming King and Queen.

The University of the Cumberlands football team returns from their bye week to host seventh-ranked Lindsey Wilson on Homecoming Saturday at James H. Taylor, II Stadium.

UC football returned home for the first time in nearly a month as they hosted the Blue Raiders of Lindsey Wilson College for their annual Homecoming game. It was back and forth for much of the contest, but late in the game Lindsey Wilson would surge ahead for a 41-27 victory over the Patriots, moving UC to 2-4 overall on the season.
